La visita de Maren (Maren's Visit)

Hello bloggers!
This is a new entry finally, after so so so so so long time (and thanks for all the shoes),

Maren came here to visit Barcelona some weeks ago, and she asked to stay at home so she could, and we have been visiting the city and also some other places close to Barcelona (Tarragona, Torredembarra where we have a beach appartment, Roc Sant Gaietà and also Sitges), and this would be the history of those so fun memories.

First I picked her up from the Estació del Nord the main bus station here, and we begun to visit.First it was home and later on, the centrum.

Once in the centrum, Ramblas was something mandatory and also la Plaça Reial (a cool place were to party sometimes)

Plaça Reial.

and to the Plaça de Sant Jaume where the city council and the goverment of catalunya where both are placed.
And as it has been the days of the city, we have been able to go inside the city council and to see the giants, a tradition from here in Catalonia from ages.

Inside the city council with some of the "giants", the ones we call capgrossos (big heads).

After that we went direction to the Cathedral

The cathedral of Barcelona

and later on we get lost in those old streets, just to visit la Plaça del Rei.

Inside of the Corona de Aragón Archieves places in the Plaça del Rei.

From there down to see the sea, doing some nice stops in the way.

The first one was the Born district and The Cathedral of The Sea (la Catedral del Mar) and the Born district itself with el Fossar de les moreres included.

El fossar de les moreres

Once there, we decided to go down and we stopped in the Park of the Ciutadella (close to the North Station) where there were some bands playing music for free as it were the days of the city.
Later on to that old time fashion and cool train station in Barcelona called Estació de França, and to The Arc de Tiomf.

The Estació de França

View of the Rambla between the park and the arc (at the very end)

A better view of the Arc de Tiomf :)

And after that we decided to go in front of the sea, to have a walk from la Barceloneta to the Mapfre Towers and the Casino. (no, no game for us, thanks xD).

The sea and the beach of Barcelona, called la Barceloneta.

And the mapfre towers in such a nice picture that Maren made.

And at night we went to Montjuïc to contemplate the Magic Fountains and we've found that there was a marathon the day after.

Magic fountains of Montjuïc. Where water, music and lights mixes all in one to offer a pretty nice show.

That was all for the 1st day.

The next one we went to the Circuit de Catalunya Racing Track where I use to work as a Steward and I got free passes to watch Maren's first cars race live ever, the DTM (Deutschland Tourism Motorswagen so yes, it is a german competition :) ).

But First we went to visit the Park Güell because it is close home and we got time as we never wanted to spend all the day in the racing track.

So, ladies and Gentlemen the Park Güell

Main entrance, even you can not see it the dragon you'll see later on is after those people in the 1st picture.
The park is full of tourists every day of the year.

Here it is the famous dragon (is not the one in black :P )

The city from the Park's Güell roof.

So we went to the Circuit de Catalunya :D

This is a nice panoramic view from it.

Mina Kompisar !! Polo cup, they drove so close! :D

After the races we went back to Barcelona and we decided to go to the Plaça del Rei again to visit the museum of the old city (where you can see the ruins from the old roman city) because that day was free.

OMG! we got so much rain! It was raining so heavily at some point. But later on we decided to go up to visit el Palau de la Música. So it was a Gaudí day!

The 3rd day we went down to the south to Torredembarra (80kms south of Barcelona) to spend 2 days there visiting the sorroundings.

So we decided to visit a nice beach close home
